About the program

This volunteer opportunity allows you to share your knowledge of English with elementary school students eager to learn a global language. Whether it’s basic conversation, grammar, or pronunciation, your role will be vital in helping students develop linguistic skills that could enhance their future opportunities. You’ll work closely with the local elementary school in Aik Berik Village, Central Lombok, which values education as a foundation for community development.

Aik Berik is a picturesque village nestled at the foothills of Mount Rinjani, one of Indonesia’s most iconic peaks and a popular destination for hikers. The area is part of the Rinjani Geopark, recognized by UNESCO for its stunning landscapes and unique geological features. The village is surrounded by lush forestry areas and is home to several waterfalls, including Benang Stokel and Benang Kelambu. Benang Kelambu is particularly famous as one of the most unique waterfalls in the world, with water cascading gently through layers of greenery, resembling a curtain. Visitors can explore a total of five waterfalls in the vicinity, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts. The area’s natural beauty and serene atmosphere provide a perfect backdrop for cultural immersion and meaningful volunteer work.
