About the program

This program supports the first formal bird cataloging initiative in Aik Berik, a village nestled beneath Mount Rinjani’s southern slopes. Volunteers will join local teams in documenting waterbird species through photography, field notes, and GPS mapping.

The aim is to produce a comprehensive field guide and install interpretive signage to promote birdwatching-based ecotourism. Your photographs, observations, and data will directly contribute to this landmark publication, and you’ll be credited in the final version.

By training local guides and building public awareness, this initiative blends environmental conservation with long-term community empowerment. Whether you’re in the field or crafting educational materials, your role leaves a meaningful mark.
