Through Bale Nara Lombok’s digital literacy program, young leaders managing a forestry-based ecotourism project are realizing how technology can do more than solve digital challenges—it can transform their futures.
This program is built on a fundamental belief: providing digital skills to empower students to pursue higher education, equipping them to manage their village with a sustainable tourism approach.
Turning Aspirations Into Achievements
Recently, a significant milestone highlighted the program’s transformative impact. With the generosity of public donations, Bale Nara Lombok successfully secured full scholarships for two outstanding female alumni of the digital literacy program to pursue undergraduate studies at Lombok Tourism Polytechnique. These scholarships are more than a chance to study; they are life-altering pathways toward becoming leaders in Community-Based Tourism (CBT).
Yet, amidst the joy of this achievement, there was a bittersweet reality. The announcement brought visible disappointment to the faces of four other equally deserving students—an undeniable reminder of the vast potential yet to be realized and the financial limitations we still face.

While our current resources limit the number of scholarships we can offer, we remain committed to the belief that the seeds of today’s efforts will grow into something remarkable.
