Social Impact Program

We offer flexible travelling opportunities tailored to accommodate diverse preferences, goals, and financial capacities. We recognize that every traveler has unique circumstances, and therefore provide two flexible funding models to suit individual needs.

Partially Funded Program

For selected applicants demonstrating a strong commitment to travelling and community impact, we offer partially funded opportunities. Through scholarships or support from partner organizations, accommodation during the program will be provided. Travelers remain responsible for meals, personal expenses, including airfare to and from Indonesia, visa fees, scooter rental, insurance, and other incidental costs. This option is ideal for those seeking financial assistance while maintaining a high-quality travelling experience.

Self-Funded travelling

For self-funded travelers, we offer two formats, based on the preferred level of independence and support:

  • All-Inclusive Travelling
This option provides a comprehensive program including accommodation, meals, and local transportation. The program is carefully designed based on local expertise and includes full coordination and staff support to ensure a seamless and enriching experience throughout your stay.

  • Self-Arranged Travelling
This option grants travelers the flexibility to arrange their own accommodation, meals, and transportation. A modest travelers contribution is required to support the operations and management of Bale Nara Lombok’s programs. Travelers are also encouraged to support the platform’s sustainability by making additional contributions or donations to ongoing campaigns, available at https://balenara.id/donate/. Travelers durations and responsibilities are tailored to individual interests and availability to provide a personalized experience.

Please understand that paying the program fee does not lessen the importance of your time, effort, or commitment. Your contribution is essential to keep our programs running; without it, we could not sustain the travelers opportunities. By paying, you cover your own needs and also help support the local economy. Your presence makes a positive difference in the lives of many people in underserved communities. Additionally, our program prices are often 50–70% cheaper than if you arranged everything yourself. This is because local service providers offer discounted rates as they appreciate your support, allowing you to contribute meaningfully without overspending.

Should you be interested in joining our program, have any inquiries, or wish to initiate the registration process, please consult our FAQ: https://bit.ly/FAQBNL. You may also contact us directly via email at admin@balenara.id or WhatsApp at wa.me/+628175774979. We are pleased to provide additional information regarding our projects, available roles, and ongoing support throughout your travelling journey.

Theresa Auer

I spent six months in Lombok supporting Bale Nara Lombok while on sabbatical. Coming from South Africa, a country so different from Lombok in terms of its warmth and safety, I was truly amazed. I’ve already decided to return to this island and make it my permanent home.
